Which? books is set to publish a guide on 20 June to inform consumers about 'unscrupulous' financial advisers. The guide entitled "How to be Your own Financial Adviser" was written when research carried out by Which? showed that financial advisers were biased towards endowment mortgages because of higher commissions. It also found that consumers were sometimes encouraged to invest or buy more insurance cover than was necessary.
