Scottish Equitable Protect has published an IFA newsletter covering underwriting issues in a bid to improve communication between underwriters and IFAs, and help intermediaries keep up with underwriting developments.
The newsletter, Underwriting Today, developed after research, showed that many IFAs find it difficult communicating with underwriters, deterring them from seeking new business.
Heather Armstrong, marketing manager at Scottish Equitable Protect, said: "A key issue is that IFAs often find it impossible to speak to underwriters. The underwriting skills inherited from Guardian are one of our key strengths and we want to make this asset available to IFAs."
The newsletter adds to the company's drive to make underwriters more accessible to IFAs, including the underwriting helpline. Matt Rann, head of underwriting at Scottish Equitable Protect, said it will encourage regular feedback from IFAs, which should in turn help improve underwriting services.
Rann said: "Our underwriting service means we can offer things such as field underwriting and a dedicated helpline. Underwriting Today will provide IFAs with a regular update of information from the underwriting team."
