Hill Samuel Asset Management's extranet portion of its website, specifically designed for the top end of the IFA market, has already attracted more than 400 users
The site includes comments on all the major markets by the group's fund managers. They are updated at least once a month and predominantly cover the micro economic picture. On the macro economic side there will be two-minute video presentations from fund managers. Jenny Hayward, a US fund manager at the group, discusses the future of the US economy, in the site's current presentation
The group's existing website will cater for the commission-based IFA and retail markets and is set to be updated. Ian Pascal, marketing director at Hill Samuel, said: "We wanted to keep the new website apart from the existing one, so we could differentiate between the two and add value to the part of the industry we do the most business with. The main difference between the discretionary site and the IFA and retail site is that the former is richer in market information the latter will provide information on our Isa product range, technical advice on Isas and current promotions on funds
Discretionary IFAs will also be able to access archived articles written about Hill Samuel and articles written by the group's fund managers and discuss issues in a forum format. Unit trust prices will be updated daily
The group will look at trading over the internet over the next 12 months
