Chancellor Gordon Brown has confirmed Callum McCarthy as the new chairman elect of the FSA, who will step into his role in September when current chairman Howard Davies leaves for a job at the London School of Economics. McCarthy, who is currently chairman and chief executive of Ofgem, the gas and electricity regulator, will start shadowing FSA board meetings as of May, the Treasury says.
