Jamie MacLeod has joined Skandia, filling a newly created post as managing director of Skandia Investment Services.
MacLeod, formerly managing director of Investec Asset Management's retail fund business, takes responsibility for the sale and promotion of Skandia's UK multi-manager Oeic, reporting to Jim Roberts and takes a seat on the group's investment committee, the body responsible for the selection and monitoring of fund managers.
Jim Roberts, Skandia's director of investment, said MacLeod will replace him as nominated chief executive of the Oeic, subject to FSA approval and has already started to carry out a strategic review of the existing multi-manager operation with a view to implementing any changes he sees fit.
Roberts said: 'There are only four multimanager sub-funds in place at the moment and he (MacLeod) will decide what other sub-funds we want to add and what markets we want to be in.'
While at Investec, MacLeod gained a reputation for building a strong investment team and aggressively marketing it, landing such deals as the outsourcing of Investec European to Blackrock's Albert Morillo.
