Following the announcement of the merger between ABN Amro and Artemis, stockbroker Gerrard has reversed its previous "sell" recommendations on ABN's main UK funds.
The funds affected are the UK Growth, UK Select Opportunities, High Income and Equity Income.
Gerrard put a sell note on all of them after the acrimonious departure of previous star fund managers George Luckraft and Nigel Thomas.
However, the broker now says the "managers at Artemis have proven ability in managing similar mandates and therefore must be given the opportunity to continue their good track record".
There are doubts over the ability to successfully integrate the management teams of the two companies, but Gerrard says it wants to see evidence of problems before it applies a negative view on the funds again.
