The Association of Investment Trust Companies is organising a series of private investor forums across the UK this year as part of its commitment toward boosting investors' konwledge of investment trusts.
The series kicks off in London next week on 27 February and is planned to run until 20 November, when it will wrap up in Bath.
In between the association is planning forums for 29 April in York, 12 June at Gleneagles, and 11 September in Birmingham.
The events are planned to take place in the evening, with investment managers and industry commentators on hand to explain the ins and outs of investment trusts and how they may fit into an investment portfolio.
For further information investors can call the AITC on 020-8655-7809, or email the following address: [email protected]
Besides the educational content of the forums, it should also present a chance for private investors to put questions about ongoing investment trust issues such as the existence of a "magic circle" of self-invested split capital investment trusts.
The aviation sector's constant evaluation of errors in order to improve safety should be applied to defined benefit (DB) schemes, as too many are repeating the same mistakes again and again, research has shown.
