F&C has abolished the front-end load charges on its three main lower-risk products following a successful six-week trial period on the group's Higher Income Plan last year. The F&C Blue Fund, With Prospects and the Higher Income Plan will all maintain their current annual management fees and will continue paying commission and trial fees to intermediaries. Jamie Farquhar, marketing director at F&C, said in the six-week period for which it removed the initial charge on Stephen Dolbear's Higher Income Plan, the fund took £20m. However, when the offer ended, the inflow dried up, demonstrating just how price sensitive the market currently is.
