BlackRock's Doll backs large caps

LARGE cap stocks are the place to be invested this year as corporate earnings and stock market movements are driving them forward, according to BlackRock's vice chairman and global CIO.

Bob Doll, who is also lead portfolio manager of the company’s Large Cap Series funds, said while the US region was lagging behind other sectors, top-end multi-national companies would perform strongly as first quarter earnings had been strong. “Non-US economic growth remains strong,” he said. “A number of companies have indicated in their first-quarter earnings reports that gains in their international businesses have been offsetting domestic weakness, and sectors of the market that tend to have high exposure to non-U.S. earnings streams have all been performing quite well.” Doll expl...
