Standard Bank Offshore has appointed David Wilkinson as director of intermediary distribution, targeting relationships in African emerging markets.
Wilkinson was previously head of sales for the investment and financial planning teams in the Isle of Man and Gibraltar at Royal Bank of Scotland International.
He will lead a team of advisers responsible for managing and developing the relationships between Standard Bank Offshore and IFAs globally.
"The emerging markets in Africa, where the bank has considerable experience and knowledge, is a key target for us," he said.
The firm will also look to further its contacts and clients in the Middle and Far East as well as its European operations, said Wilkinson.
"The needs of the expat community are growing in new areas of the globe and we are in a unique position to be able to support them by providing their banking requirements," he added.
John Coyle, managing director of Standard Bank Offshore in the Isle of Man, said: "David has a proven track record, and his experience as a strategic team leader and manager in local and international financial planning will enable us to continue to grow our business globally."
He expects a 'significant' expansion of the group's intermediary distribution network.
