Standard Bank has appointed Adam Hunt as head of high net worth clients within its Private Bank division.
Prior to Standard Bank, Hunt was director, head of International at Kaupthing Singer and Friedlander and was involved in establishing offices in Dubai and Qatar to service high net worth clients in the Gulf region.
Hunt will be responsible for spearheading Standard Bank's client acquisition programme, focusing specifically on clients in the Middle East, Kenya and Nigeria.
"The experience he has gained from working in Africa and the Gulf States will prove invaluable as we continue to grow our business in these key areas," says Ian Gibson, chief executive officer, Standard Bank Offshore.
Standard Bank has US$178bn assets at June 2008 and is an Africa banking group focused on emerging markets.
