Anglo Irish Bank Corporation has launched a 90-day account that pays an interest rate of 5%.
The Privilege 90 Day Notice Accrual account is for long-term investors and interest is accrued daily. The minimum deposit is $5,000 and it is also available in sterling or euro.
After 90 days, investors have the option to continue with their investment or close the account to receive their money.
James Horrigan, head of private client services, said: "The new account offers investors maximum flexibility when it comes to their personal financial planning. For example, with our Privilege 90 Day Notice Accrual Account, clients intending to relocate from one country or tax jurisdiction to another, or individuals whose tax circumstances may change sometime in the foreseeable future, can exercise full control over when they choose to receive their interest payment."
