Paul Ilott, formerly communications manager at Bates Investment Services, is to join Fidelity as investment communications consultant for its MultiManager Business for both retail and institutional channels.
In this newly created role, reporting to Simon Ellis, managing director of Fidelity International’s MultiManager Business, Ilott will help drive client communication strategy for Fidelity’s global range of multi-manager funds.
Working directly alongside the portfolio managers, Ilott will communicate the team's views on stock markets, the underlying fund managers and the construction of the portfolios.
Ilott has 20 years experience in financial services, which includes 16 years as an investment specialist IFA. More recently he worked for Bates Investment Services where he was head of communications from 2004 until earlier this year. In this role he was not only responsible for delivering investment analysis and commentary both to the media and the company's clients, but also worked as a member of the company's research team covering investment strategy, trends and asset allocation.
Ilott says: “I am very excited to be joining the Fidelity MultiManager Business at what is still an early stage in its long term development.
"My research-led IFA background gives me a great deal of empathy with the adviser community and the day to day practicalities involved when dealing with clients face to face. I aim to use this experience to help provide IFAs and consultants with the continuity and transparency of information they require when advising their clients on multi-manager strategies.”IFAonline
