Unusual insurance claims dealt with by Lloyds TSB advisers in 2008 included a man who had shot his own TV, the firm reveals.
The individual refurbishes old guns and didn't realise the one he was holding was loaded, it says.
Other cases included a man whose glasses were taken by a magpie and countless claims of mobile phones, MP3 players and laptops being flushed down toilets or dropped in the bath.
"I never cease to be intrigued by the variety of claims we receive day in, day out," says Phil Loney, managing director of Lloyds TSB Insurance.
"Our 2008 quirky claims round-up highlights that it's truly impossible to predict what's around the corner and whilst it's important to take sensible security, maintenance and safety steps, having a good insurance policy is vital to ensure long term peace of mind."IFAonline
