Legal & General (L&G) has appointed Martin Noone as sales director within its protection arm.
The firm says Noone will have responsibility for enhancing L&G’s presence in the protection market through the adviser sector.
He joins from BUPA, where he ran the sales operation across individual protection and group risk, as well as heading up its customer service operation.
Prior to this, Noone held sales and commercial roles at CIGNAL and Prudential in what has so far been a 20-year financial career.
Duncan Crocker, managing director intermediary distribution, whom Noone will report to, says: “As the country’s largest provider of life and critical illness cover, the IFA channel is a very important area for us.
“Martin will drive our ambition to grow the business even further through innovative technology, competitive pricing and excellent service.
“He joins us at an exciting time as we have been voted Life Insurer of the Year and we’re sure that his skills and experience will be a great asset to the team.”
