Schroders is renaming its £146m US Small and Mid Cap fund to simply US Mid Cap to better reflect the vehicle's investment style.
Launched in April 2005, Schroders says the fund has continually held a much larger proportion invested in medium rather than smaller sized companies.
Managed by Jenny Jones, the fund is ranked third out of 78 vehicles in the IMA North America sector over one year to 9 March, down 12.9% against a 24.1% average decline.
Schroders says the change to Mid Cap will be reflected in the fund's overall investment objective and policy, while any reference to the fund investing in smaller companies will be removed. However, the fund will retain its performance track record as its investment approach has not changed.
"The experience and expertise of our US Mid cap team is second to none. Jenny is a very well recognised name in the US mid cap area and she continues to demonstrate her extensive knowledge and experience with impressive returns," Schroders UK retail head Robin Stoakley says.
"Her team has demonstrated their skills through both bull and bear market cycles and it is their ability to deliver year on year which has proved critical to adding real value for our clients."Investment Week
