Schroders renames US Small and Mid Cap fund

Schroders is renaming its £146m US Small and Mid Cap fund to simply US Mid Cap to better reflect the vehicle's investment style.

Launched in April 2005, Schroders says the fund has continually held a much larger proportion invested in medium rather than smaller sized companies. Managed by Jenny Jones, the fund is ranked third out of 78 vehicles in the IMA North America sector over one year to 9 March, down 12.9% against a 24.1% average decline. Schroders says the change to Mid Cap will be reflected in the fund's overall investment objective and policy, while any reference to the fund investing in smaller companies will be removed.
