Well-off retirees on top of freedoms despite 'poor provider contact'

The majority of well-off pre-retirees are well prepared for pensions freedom and choice despite lack of contact from providers about the changes, a survey from website RetireEasy has found.

A survey of the retirement planning website's user base, mainly well-off people with average private pension assets of £146,000, found more than half (54%) had still not been contacted by their pension provider in light of pensions freedom. The government's retirement reform package, which gives defined contribution savers complete access to their pension pots at the age of 55, was introduced on 6 April.
