The results of the regulator's 2016 suitability review, the MiFID II policy statement and further work on pension freedoms are set to be the hot regulation topics over the year ahead, according to Rory Percival.

Asked by Professional Adviser to highlight the areas of regulation on which advisers should keep a close eye in 2017, the former Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) technical specialist, who set up his own consultancy last year, picked out: Suitability review Percival suggested advisers should not be too surprised by the findings of last year's suitability review by the FCA as they were likely already to be aware of the problems in question.
