Advisers' 2023 wishlists: Clear regulation and proactive providers

PA takes a look at exactly what advisers want in the coming year

Advisers would like to see less volatility, positive changes from the regulator and action on the part of providers in 2023, they said when asked by Professional Adviser to outline their wishlists.

Unsurprisingly given the high level of disruption in the markets last year, less volatility is top of the list for two advisers. In 2022 the volatility index hit a high of 34.5 in October, however, it fell back to just above 21 in December. In contrast, it was as low as 12 pre-pandemic. Susan Hill Financial Planning Chartered financial planner Susan Hill said she would want low volatility in order to enable "confidence to return to equity market" and "give clients some prospect of growth".
