Ex-Bestinvest CEO poaches five former colleagues for new venture

Former chief executive of Bestinvest John Spiers has raided his old firm for five senior wealth management staff to build a new discretionary investment proposition aimed at high net worth clients.

Spiers poached Bestinvest's director of investment management Mike Neumann and director of financial planning Katharine Lindley. The others he has enticed from Bestinvest are investment manager Andrew Rees, fund research analyst Sophie Muller and senior investment administrator Kate West. Spiers said the hires are part of his plan to build a discretionary fund management (DFM) arm to his recently launched wealth management firm EQ Investors.
