The SIPP market has undergone turbulent times of late. Bad press over the use of UCIS has brought SIPPs into the spotlight, often for all the wrong reasons. In addition to this, the industry is currently working with the FCA on capital adequacy requirements. Most recently, the industry body, AMPS, called on the FCA to bring in interim measures on capital adequacy, to enable a wider debate to happen. Carey Pensions CEO, Christine Hallett goes through some of the major issues the SIPP industry faces today.
