Politicians may make populist promises to disenfranchised masses, says Graham Bentley, but forward-thinking advisers should have a greater chance of delivering on the substance

So we have a 70 year-old US President-elect - generally despised by bien-pensants and a generation of bright young things, but adored by the disenfranchised, blue-collar brigade who wanted to deliver a bit of a kicking to the establishment. It is said electorates get the leaders they deserve. We'll see. Trump is the antithesis of the suave, correct career politician.
