Chancellor Philip Hammond will deliver his first Autumn Statement on 23 November.

He announced the date when giving evidence to a House of Lords committee on 8 September. The Budget speech will set out the government's taxation and spending plans, and the state of the UK economy. It will be the first statement delivered by the new Chancellor who succeeded George Osborne in July after being appointed by new Prime Minister Theresa May. Back then Hammond (pictured) said he may use the Autumn Statement to "reset" economic policy, in light of the UK's vote to leave the European Union on 23 June.
