SJP-affiliated legal firm snaps up advice businesses in growth drive

A legal firm, which recently launched as part of the St James's Place (SJP) network, has bought two financial services firms, fueling its plans to reach £500m of assets under management (AUM) in five years.

Gilson Gray's acquisitions of A MacLeod Financial Services and the Lindsay Practice took the firm's assets under management to £100m and added £2.4m in gross capital value to the firm's balance sheet. The law firm launched in May this year and is looking to acquire further financial advice businesses "from outside the SJP network" to realise its growth plans. > Read: The perfect marriage?
