Consumers are still no more aware of whether the financial advice they receive was through an independent intermediary post-depolarisation, suggests research.
According to a Mori study of over 2,000 people commissioned by IFA Promotion, at least 90% of those questioned say seeing an independent adviser is important to them and 72% of people who took advice in the last year think they saw an IFA. However, evidence suggests this is not the case, according to IFAP’s annual survey, this research produced by YouGov in January 2006 indicates twice as many people saw advisers at a bank or building society as those who saw an IFA.
