Alan Gadd is to depart HSBC at the end of the month after five and a half years with the group. Gadd, who has no job to go to, leaves his role as head of personal financial services following the arrival of Mike Smith to head up HSBC's professional adviser arm. Smith, who started his role last week, has joined from Colonial First State Investments and will be responsible for distribution via IFAs and small institutions.
