Irish funds industry underpins economic revival

Industry is praised as the 'one constant' in recent tough economic times.

Speaking at the Irish Fund Industry Association’s (IFIA) annual conference, the country’s Minister for Finance, Michael Noonan, acknowledged the “very tough period in the past few years” but told the industry that there are grounds to be optimistic. “The industry continues to create employment, to showcase our talents and to enhance Ireland’s reputation as a place to do business.” Newly appointed chairman of the IFIA, Kevin Murphy, responded to the Minister with a call for continued commitment from the industry. “Notwithstanding the considerable success achieved in the last 20 year...
