Recognising advisers are now people who run businesses that offer advice, rather than being advisers who happen to have a business, will help the profession to keep improving, according to Cathi Harrison.
Historically, the Para-Sols founder and director argues, advisers simply ran a business around their advice. However, she adds, the shift in the profession now means advisers are business owners and their job within the business is being an adviser. "It's a very different mind-set to have," she explains.
