Six million children were offered a financial lifeline in last week’s Budget, following the chancellor’s announcement that the government will finally consult on options for transferring savings from child trust funds (CTFs) into Junior ISAs (JISAs). The move has been heralded a “victory for common sense” and comes as a relief for the many parents of children born between 2002 and 2011 with savings stuck in inefficient CTFs.
