March kicked off with the Spring Budget, cantered through to the conclusion of the FCA thematic review into retirement income advice and finished with a bang as the best of the best in advice were honoured at the PA Awards 2024…

It seems like quite a while ago now, but the Spring Budget was, in fact, at the start of this month. Key takeaways from the chancellor's 6 March speech, (the last before the next general election) included the creation of the British ISA, further National Insurance cuts and the abolition of the current "outdated" nom dom system. There were also changes to the child benefit system that were introduced to make the once-upon-a-time not means-tested set-up fairer. The great white whale of inheritance tax remained untouched, however. Policy watch… The regulator has been in full swing...
