The first Monday in January is also known as ‘Divorce Day', being the single most common date for divorce enquiries. Of the available statistics for 2024, divorce rates appear lower than the previous year, with January-March showing an 11% decrease in the number of divorce applications made (27,908). However, due to processing issues, the government has been unable to issue further divorce statistics for the balance of the past year.
