Since the first funeral plan was introduced to the UK in the 1980s, more and more consumers have purchased them, and for a variety of reasons, be it to have control over their funeral proceedings or to prevent a cost burden to their loved ones. The latter reason has become particularly prevalent in recent years, with growing concern over rising funeral costs, which in some areas of the UK amounts to as much as £10,000.
