Unlike the US Ryder Cup team, the performance of the US stockmarket has been nothing short of spectacular.  It is now 10 years since the height of the financial crisis and, since then, markets - particularly in the US - have been on the longest bull run in history. On a sterling total return basis, according to FE Analytics, the S&P 500 is up almost 300%, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average is up 305% over the last decade.
