Corporate earnings continue to support the bull case for equities but, warns Garry White, UK investors need to reduce their home bias as international shares now look more attractive

Corporate profits matter. Earnings season gives investors the opportunity to compare the price of a company's shares with their actual performance. Profits generate dividends that make a major contribution to personal incomes, retirement pension plans and savings. They drive business investment, which helps to boost economic growth and, perhaps most importantly, profits help to create jobs.
