The matter of one's right to sell back their annuity has been a short but eventful roller coaster. First it was mooted, as many things are, by Steve Webb, then the sector said it was a non-starter. At least most of the sector did. Then it was up for discussion once again and, finally, George Osborne shut us all up by confirming it in the Budget.
