It is both my and this magazine's reporters' job to talk to our readers, to learn about the issues affecting their businesses and to write about them.

We do this to raise awareness and, hopefully, improve things for the adviser community. But, sometimes, you will refrain from telling us much at all for fear the regulator will clock your firm’s name and pop round for an impromptu TCF visit. We are interested in what might be called the water cooler conversation; the moments when you share your real concerns and plans with peers safe in the knowledge they will (probably) keep it to themselves.
