I have to say I agree with Martin to a large extent here. I used to be an IFA salesperson but am more about the fees model now. Having said that, there are many people who still choose to pay via commission, even given the myriad of options they now have. The better earners do not have a problem with the fee route at all. But doesn't everyone deserve an independant view, even if they cannot afford the fee for advice? I believe they do. If IFAs - whether advisers or salespeople - do not wish to enlighten their client about paying off debts or NS&I products etc, I believe it is the adviser'...
