Facing up to the 'what if' scenarios

Out with the old and in with the new. I love New Year. New Year's Eve parties are always great and wonderfully round off a two-week break over Christmas. A fresh start is always good, personally and professionally. Even the office gets a spring clean as I annoy my colleagues by trying to throw away anything that isn't nailed down.

Although I love fresh starts, particularly after a long break, I am not one for New Year resolutions. Perhaps it’s the contrarian in me (my wife calls it stubbornness) but I think New Year’s resolutions are for mugs. You have probably got more chance of successfully claiming on a PPI policy than you have of keeping your resolution past the end of January - and that's saying something. There has never been more to keep advisers busy so we shouldn't have time for resolutions anyway.
