Blackburn man Guy Flintham who committed fraud totalling £19m by false representation and carried out regulated activity without authorisation has been sentenced to six years in jail. On 19 February 2024, Flintham pleaded guilty to fraud by false representation following a prosecution brought by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) in January. Between January 2016 and November 2021, Flintham defrauded more than 240 investors by making false representations to persuade them to invest approximately £19m in an investment scheme operated by him.
