FCA enforcement to become 'assertive, proactive and intrusive'

‘You can expect the regulator to take robust action where needed’

When it comes to Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) enforcement action, “it is only a matter of time,” delegates heard.

Speaking at the Personal Investment Management & Financial Advice Association's Consumer Duty Conference yesterday (28 February), Shoosmiths partner Daren Allen said we are going to see a lot of activity on the enforcement side from the regulator.  "It will challenge firms," he warned. "When it comes to FCA enforcement action, for some it is only a matter of time." Allen added that charging is likely to be a key focus for the regulator.
