FSCS declares Durham and Worcester advice firms as failed

Duo part of a raft of firms declared in default since last December

Durham-based advice firm D&G Financial Services and Worcester-based investment advice firm Houghton Edwards have been declared failed by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS).

The FSCS said the firms are no longer trading, so customers can make  claims against them. D&G Financial Services was declared failed on 9 January 2024, whilst Houghton Edwards was declared failed on 15 December 2023. The FSCS said it received two claims against D&G Financial Services relating to pension advice. One claim has been upheld and another still in progress. The lifeboat scheme also confirmed that the claims are associated with British Steel Pension Scheme transfers.
