Impartiality ranks as the most highly valued adviser skill by clients

Research looks at the skills most valued beyond the core advice itself

The adviser skill which clients place the most value on is impartiality, M&G has found.

A survey of advised clients conducted as part of its Family Wealth Unlocked report for 2023 showed more than a third (37%) ranked impartiality as the most valued skill their adviser has. Impartiality in the context of the question was considered to be a behaviour, for example, advisers' discussions around product and platform recommendations as well as an adviser's impartiality towards clients' family members.
