Bristol firm with British Steel links declared failed after FSCS probe

The lifeboat fund confirmed it was investigating the firm in March

Bristol advice firm Wealthmasters Financial Management has been declared in default by the Financial Services Compensation Scheme (FSCS) following an investigation of several months.

The FSCS said it was investigating the firm back in March due to claims against it relating to British Steel Pension Scheme (BSPS) transfer advice. The firm was declared failed yesterday (11 July) but has been in liquidation since February. The Financial Conduct Authority register shows it has traded under 11 different names since it first gained authorisation in 2011. At the time it entered liquidation it was trading under TT Wealth, Seymour Financial, and Ambrose Clayton Wealth Management in addition to the Wealthmasters name.
