Advisers must offer clients ‘emotional, mental, and general health support’

Advisers should improve their clients’ wellbeing service by offering more “emotional, mental, and general health support”, Continuum says.

The call from the Plymouth-headquartered national comes after a recent Morningstar study found that clients are most likely to turn to financial planning for emotional reasons. The research suggested that the majority (60%) of clients cited an emotional reason than a financial reason (40%) for hiring an adviser. Continuum managing partner Martin Brown said: "Money is one of the most sensitive and at times uncomfortable subjects for many of us to talk about.
