Martin Gilbert steps down as co-CEO of Standard Life Aberdeen

Martin Gilbert, co chief executive officer of Standard Life Aberdeen has stepped down from the position, giving sole responsibility to Keith Skeoch, effective immediately.

In the group's results for the full year to 31 December 2018, it was announced Gilbert would become vice chairman of Standard Life Aberdeen and chairman of Aberdeen Standard Investments. Gilbert had been chief executive of Aberdeen Investments since he co-founded the company in 1983. Following the merger with Standard Life in 2017, he became co-CEO alongside Keith Skeoch. Skeoch will now be sole chief executive from 13 March.
