Rivals' re-platforming woes boost Transact's Q3 net sales - Fundscape

Platforms saw their net sales pegged back in the third quarter of 2018, according to Fundscape data, though Transact was boosted by some rivals' re-platforming woes to take top spot in the retail advised channel.

According to the research provider's latest Platform Report, a combination of Brexit-related concerns, the holiday season and a continued slowdown in the defined benefit (DB) transfer pipeline left both gross and net platform sales down on the same period last year. At first sight, the report noted, the sector appeared to have defied a period of falling markets - both the FTSE 100 and FTSE All-Share were down 1.8% over the quarter - to the extent that total assets were up £30.3bn (5%) to £634bn.
