Sir David Ramsden appointed Bank of England deputy governor

The Bank of England (BoE) has appointed Sir David Ramsden as deputy governor following Charlotte Hogg's resignation in March.

Effective 4 September, Ramsden will be responsible for managing the BoE's balance sheet which includes the implementation of monetary policy, the provision of liquidity insurance to the financial system and the management of the government's FX reserves. Ramsden will be a member of the bank's Monetary Policy Committee, Financial Policy Committee, the Prudential Regulation Committee and the court of the BoE.
