Woodford: Why my fund underperformed the FTSE All-Share in 2016

Fund manager Neil Woodford has outlined a number of reasons why his £9.6bn Woodford Equity Income fund failed to outperform the FTSE All-Share throughout 2016.

Amid several market challenges and political shocks, the FTSE All-Share returned 16.8% over 2016, beating Woodford's fund, which only returned 3.2% during the same period, according to FE. In his latest blog, Woodford (pictured) looks back at the last 12 months and identifies the reasons the fund did not perform as well as it did during the previous year.
