Unbiased reports surge in consumers seeking advice

Up almost 60% on last year

Unbiased has reported a 57% increase of visitors to its directory site, saying more consumers were currently looking for advice than ever before.

The adviser directory said it had seen an "exceptional" rush of visits to the site on what is known as ‘Advice Day', which is the first working Monday of the year and generally the most popular day for seeking professional financial advice. Pension advice remained the most in demand but searches for mortgage advice had become almost as popular this year. This was followed by searches related to investment advice, protection, savings, tax and finally, business.
