Top fund houses' performance data 'six weeks out of date'

Fund factsheets from eight of the ten best-selling fund groups contain performance data that is six weeks out of date and fails to reflect recent market turmoil, according to research by a fintech firm.

Of the ten factsheets reviewed on fund houses' websites on 10 September 2015, eight included performance data only to 31 July 2015, before markets hit a particularly choppy period. The Standard Life Investments UK Equity Growth Fund factsheet included data to 31 August, while the Fidelity website included online performance data for the UK Smaller Companies fund updated to 9 September 2015 rather than a static factsheet. August and early September were volatile times for global markets, with steep falls and sharp rebounds sparked by concerns about the strength of the Chinese economy. ...
